Why use essential oils rather than herbs and vise versa? Some herbs require very large quantities of material to get the benefits needed, so essential oils are helpful in this case. In other cases multiple constituents come from the herb or herbs and they work together to give the combined effect wanted.

Plant vs Vat produced ingredients-Ingredients made from renewable resources, such as plants, are an important part of The Herb Woman collection of products. Petroleum products are not renewable, not good for our skin and are very costly in the pollution and energy waste department! The Herb Woman uses naturally derived ingredients from plants and does not use petroleum based ingredients *The information above was obtained from the manufacturers labels, Wikipedia, www.sciencedirect.com, What is Glycerin? Why do we use it?
Glycerin is a humectant - it attracts water, softens skin and helps with cell regeneration. The Herb Woman uses only vegetable glycerin in my products. Glycerin, also called glycerol and glycerine — is a colorless, odorless, viscous, and hygroscopic liquid that is non-toxic and non-allergenic. It is made of three carbon atoms, eight hydrogen atoms, and three oxygen atoms, giving it the formula of C3H8O3.
