In about 1988 I began growing herbs and making "lotions & potions" due to familial peer pressure! "Cathy, I need..."
Beth wanted me to grow horehound for the cough drops she made for her sore throat, Eddy had painful neuralgia because of his diabetes and wanted a foot soak or a lotion. And, to be honest I had issues with skin allergies and arthritis so I "needed" things too!
By 1991 I had a good size selection of massage oils, bath salts, facial products etc. and was selling at small craft fairs and had products for sale in my belly dance studio Dance of Arabia. Today I still sell my "lotions & potions" out of my dance studio and through good old fashion word of mouth, but have given up on craft fairs even though I really enjoyed them, the time and physical effort of moving boxes of glass jars and bottles is more than I can deal with.
